Background
LIXIL is adding a window manufacturing plant in Hyderabad as it pushes its housing technology business further into the Indian market. The 500,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to open in 2028.
The facility supports the Make in India initiative and builds a responsive local supply chain under LIXIL Housing Technology India. It will work alongside the existing LHT plant in IMT Manesar, Haryana, to meet rising demand for TOSTEM aluminum window systems and sliding door profiles.
The expansion will lift TOSTEM’s local production ratio in India from 30% to over 60%. Customers across Northern and Southern India will receive faster service.
LHT will also promote its TOSTEM Windows in the Box solution, which ships precision-engineered, ready-to-assemble window kits directly to project sites. The company manages 80% of quality-critical processes in-house. A retail expansion covering about 160 partner companies and over 150 showrooms across 130 cities will support the rollout.
Hardeep Singh, Managing Director of TOSTEM India, said the new facility will deliver global TOSTEM quality that is proudly Made in India. He said the company looks forward to serving distributors, partners and homeowners together with its Haryana plant.
Ichiro Murakoshi, Asia Pacific Head of TOSTEM, said the investment makes India a strategic growth hub for the business under the newly formed LHT Global organization. He said LIXIL aims to make better homes a reality for everyone, everywhere.
