Background:

Renault has officially unveiled its new Trafic E-Tech electric van at the Solutrans show in Lyon, France, ahead of a planned UK launch in late 2026. The new model promises to combine electric efficiency with the versatility needed for commercial fleets.

Designed on a brand-new all-electric skateboard platform, the Trafic E-Tech will be offered in two lengths. The shorter L1 version delivers a load capacity of 5.1 cubic metres, while the longer L2 version provides 5.8 cubic metres of space.

Both versions are 1.90 metres in height, making them suitable for height-restricted car parks, with side and rear doors large enough to load Euro pallets.

Under the hood, the van’s electric motor produces just over 200 horsepower and 345 Nm of torque, supporting a towing capacity of up to two tonnes and a payload of 1.25 tonnes. Renault will offer two battery options, with the long-range battery providing up to 280 miles, while a smaller urban battery will deliver nearly 218 miles, although this may not be available at launch.

The Trafic E-Tech has power outlets for tools, software updates over the air, and a new safety system. The cabin has a 10-inch driver screen, a 12-inch central screen, and lots of storage space.

This launch helps Renault grow in the electric van market, giving businesses an efficient and flexible option instead of diesel vans.
