Background

BT Group has launched a new range of AI-powered cybersecurity tools for small and medium enterprises in the UK as businesses face a sharp rise in cyber threats this month.

The company said the new services are designed to give smaller firms stronger digital protection using advanced technology that is usually available only to large organisations.

BT said cyber attacks on connected devices have increased rapidly, with malicious scanning activity rising by 300 percent over the past year.

The company added that its networks now block around four million cyber attacks every day. Research also showed that many UK SMEs remain vulnerable because a large number still lack basic cybersecurity protection.

The new security tools are powered by CrowdStrike and include real-time monitoring, automated threat detection and rapid response systems. BT said the services can help businesses stop cyber attacks before they cause major disruption or financial losses.

Along with the security tools, BT introduced free cyber support services for SMEs through its Cyber Support Hub. The platform offers cyber health assessments, practical security guides, expert support and an AI Cyber Assistant that provides round-the-clock advice.

The company said the support system was developed using guidance from the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre.

BT stated that the launch aims to close the growing cybersecurity gap among small businesses and improve digital resilience across the UK. The company also said the initiative expands its cybersecurity services for both public and private sector organisations.
